Summary:Delivers application and related equipment to customer field, sets up equipment for specific application, calibrates accordingly, monitors calibration until job is complete and returns equipment by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Performs maintenance on all shop equipment such as oiling and lubricating, troubleshooting malfunctions and completing minor/major repairs.*
  2. Maintains and updates an accurate maintenance/repair log on all machines for reference purposes.*
  3. Maintains equipment through the use of welding, fabrication and construction.*
  4. Ability to fabricate trailers from the basic design to the execution.*
  5. Uses hand tools and related repair equipment to perform minor and major repairs.*
  6. Ability to weld using either a wire feed welder or stick welder and able to weld on both steel and stainless steel.*
  7. Ability to cut steel using a band saw, plasma cutter, or oxygen acetylene torch.*
  8. Ability to repair small engines ranging from 2.5 to 20 hp.*
  9. Knowledge of hydraulic motors and the ability to repair and install.*
  10. Perform maintenance on brakes for vehicles and trailers.*
  11. Perform electrical maintenance on vehicle and trailer lights.*
  12. Maintains a safe, neat, and orderly work area at all times.*
  13. Orders and procures parts/and or outside repairs for services beyond the shop’s qualifications.*
  14. Monitor and stock parts for equipment, as needed.*
  15. Budget and monitor expenses for each piece of equipment and keep accurate records.*
  16. Monitor equipment in yard and field to keep an accurate inventory.*
  17. Performs general safety and regulatory compliance functions.*
  18. Works evenings or weekends as required during peak seasons or during a declared emergency situation.
  19. Performs minor duties to support general building upkeep.*
  20. Requisitions cost effective supplies and items for equipment maintenance/repair as needed.*
  21. Operates company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner in accordance with safety policy manual.*
  22. Reports any equipment/vehicle problems or concerns to supervisor immediately.*
  23. Calibrates equipment by recommendation, work order, direct verbal orders or previous records.*
  24. Delivers application equipment as directed by Salesperson, customer or Supervisor.*
  25. Reports and repairs emergency maintenance problems and/or environmental hazards immediately.*
  26. Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safetyprocedures.*
  27. Mixes chemicals to customer specifications.*
  28. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Language Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of TeleNav time clock system.


One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid California Class A driver’s license with hazardous materials endorsement
  • Acceptable motor vehicle report
  • Current status on DOT medical certification

  • Welders

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

  • Must have knowledge of the mechanical operations of all diesel, gas and electric motors and how to repair and/or service motors and all components
  • Knowledge needed to repair and/or service all other company equipment
